Max Payne is a story-based shooting game made by Remedy Entertainment. The game follows Max, a police detective whose family is killed and who is blamed for a crime he did not commit. Players guide Max through snowy New York City, fighting criminals using slow-motion "Bullet Time." Max’s family is murdered by addicts high on a designer drug called Valkyr. After being framed for his partner's murder, Max goes on a one-man war against the mob and a corrupt pharmaceutical company.
