Metal Slug X (1999) is an improved version of Metal Slug 2, developed by SNK for the Neo Geo. It fixes the slowdown problems of the original game and adds new enemies, weapons and higher difficulty. It is known for its fast 2D run-and-gun gameplay, detailed pixel art and cooperative play, and is often considered the best version of the second game.
